Necklift

Cervicoplasty is the medical name for a necklift. This cosmetic procedure is designed to help men and women with a fleshy neck, often referred to in a most unflattering term as a “turkey neck.” Dr. Verne Weisberg and Dr. John Cederna can help you rejuvenate your appearance by performing a neck lift.
A sagging neck is often the result of such factors as aging, genetics, and being overweight. Having a fleshy neck has caused many women and men to seek out help that will help them enhance their appearance. Neck lift is a surgical procedure that offers a satisfying solution.
During the neck lift procedure, Dr. Weisberg or Dr. Cederna will remove excess fat and skin from the neck. The neck muscles are either removed or altered. Through this surgical neck lift procedure you will see a more defined and aesthetically pleasing neck and jaw line appearance. This can be performed alone, or in conjunction with other procedures such as a facelift, liposuction or a chin implant in order to further enhance the appearance of the neck.
One procedure alone like liposuction or a chin implant can bring about a better neck appearance. To find out what technique(s) can help you enhance the appearance of your neck, consult with the Doctor and the Patient Care Coordinator at The Plastic Surgery Center located in Portland, Maine at (207) 775-1933.
Facial Liposuction - Excess skin and fatty tissue beneath the jaw is referred to as a double chin. Many patients with this problem can be treated by direct fat excision via a small incision under the chin. This allows fat removal from the neck and jowl region to establish a better look for your face.
If there is too much loose neck skin and muscle, a facelift or neck lift procedure is necessary to properly correct the age changes. Liposuction of the neck region and direct fat excision with muscle tightening can be performed under local anesthesia.
